Regatta organizer Bill validates experience and cunning wins

The Rotary Club sponsored Cardboard Boat Regatta was held at Seahawk Park in Cape Coral Saturday, May 17. The entrants seemed to fall into two categories: Retirees with entirely too much spare time and, most exciting to me, a equal number of entrants representing boy scout and school groups who contributed more enthusiasm than skill. They put the FUN in the day, and sinking was just part of that fun for them.

The MASH helicopter entered by Merry Mariners Boat Club took first in all 5 categories. Just shows what retired engineers and designers with 400 plus hours of spare time can do. The disproportionate number of photos of MASH are just the result of bias as I belong to the Club.

Sorry for the lack of credit on some boats. I left town without the list of boats and builders.
