One More Lake View

Today we left Glenview and Bauer's RV Ranch. Sue and Arnie got in a side trip the other day to Pink Sands State Park. Sue says that it was nice enough but pales in comparison to the surrounding national parks. The Ranch has been a fun place with lots of apples that we picked and some alpacas and burros next door.

Today we headed toward Albuquerque via stops at Lake Powell and Meteor Crater. The drive to Lake Powell began south on 89 and featured trees and landscapes much like the area around The Ranch. As we turned eastward at Kanab and followed 89 along the Vermilion Cliffs, we were treated to a variety of shapes, sizes and colors of rock formations. The road was surprisingly good and made for smooth traveling.

We are now situated on the shore of Lake Powell, created by the Glen Canyon Dam, in a very nice but high-priced campground. We had dinner tonight in a restaurant with "the best dam view in town." Tomorrow we move on toward Albuquerque.
