Today was a special day for us. We left early this morning to drive to the Orlando area and have lunch with several of our MOC friends that are wintering in Florida this year. This was the first of what hopes to be a monthly luncheon and promises to get bigger and bigger as more people come south from now on. As usual, when meeting with any of the MOC people, we had a wonderful time.

We want to give a special thanks to Joyce and Tom Holroyd for planning the whole thing and donating the cool prizes of which we took home two of them. Greedy aren’t we?

We met at a Bob Evans restaurant at I-4 and Hwy 27. That turned out to be 81 miles for us to drive and since we went along Hwy 27 almost all of the way down I think I counted 47 stop lights that we arrived when it was red. Wow, if I had known that, we never would have stopped at Starbucks for that big cup of java. Thankfully the restrooms were empty when we got there and neither Bill nor I had to embarrass ourselves. I will put some pictures up for all of our MOC friends so they can try to put names with faces.

On our return trip we stopped to see a new RV Resort that are selling lots just so we could compare. While we found it very nice and for many It would be wonderful, we just confirmed to ourselves how happy that we bought where we did. We are really loving the area we are in more and more. The closer we get to Orlando, the busier it gets to say nothing of the costs. The park we stopped at is twice as much as what we paid even though the lots are about the same size.(location, location??) Of course that means that we drive further to get to the Tampa/Orlando area but after living in the big city for so many years it is kinda nice to live in the forest and get in the truck and drive just about anywhere in an hour or so. Yup, we made a good choice.

When we came to Florida two years ago we stayed at the Sumter Oaks RV Park in Bushnell. This is an Escapee park and we had a great time there. We have friends from the Escapees Class of “07” , Marcia and Joe, that are working there and we stopped to say hello on our return. We arrived in time for the 4:00 meet and greet which is held at all of the Escapee parks. Our friends Nick and Terry Russell had spent a little time there this week but unfortunately they had left this morning on their way West. Nick and Terry are the real "Gypsy" Journals that had the rally in Ohio in September where we had to leave before it really got started. You can bet that we won’t always miss them though, even if it seems like it. We made plans to meet with Marcia and Joe soon for lunch: possibly at The Villages. I can't wait to introduce them to our people watching and golf cars.

It was close to 7:00 pm when we got home and we are beat so until next time……..Have a great night……….. Later
