Highway 101

Lunch Stop

Lunch Beach to the North

Lunch Beach to the South

It Doesn't Get Much Better than This!

This morning we packed up and pulled up the hill out of Netarts, back to 101, and south for a short journey to Florence. Our plan was to stay at one of two state parks in that area.

Highway 101 spent much of the time inland on this stretch, but then passes through an very scenic stretch over Cape Perpetua. We stopped for lunch at a spot along the coast. The scenery on this highway is consistently appealing.

Just south of Cape Perpetua is the Carl Washburn State Park. We drove in and looked for a suitable campsite but there was nothing of sufficient size available. So we continued south through Florence and the beginning of the sand dunes to Honeyman State Park about three miles south of town.

Honeyman has over four hundred campsites and we were able to find one with full hookups and plenty of room for the See Ya and the Escape. We’ll be here for two nights with no TV (too many trees) and no wifi. (We’re roughing it!)
