Today we headed south out of Westport on highway 105 to highway 101. We stopped in the small town of Raymond for fuel and Sue discovered that Arnie had a badly swollen lip along with some allergy symptoms he had been showing. So we stopped at the first animal hospital we saw just a mile west of Raymond and a couple of miles east of South Bend. The vet was able to see us right after we had lunch in the See Ya (parked in an H & R Block driveway) and she prescribed some antibiotics, steroid, and antihistamine. We were happy that the bill came in under $100. So Arnie will be on meds for a week or so,
We buzzed on by Long Beach and over the bridge at Astoria into Oregon. We plan to drive the entire length of 101 along the Oregon Coast. To understand why you need only see the view that we were treated to between Cannon Beach and Manzanita. The highway often ascends from sea level to pass over a land outcropping into the Pacific and provides great views.
We had a reservation at the Netart Bay & Marina RV Park in Netarts, OR. Netarts lies about six miles west of Tillamook, home of the cheese manufacturer. The campground lies right on the bay and the sites are quite nice. The only negative is that, because of trees, I have had to use my portable (single LNB) dish for Direct TV instead of the automatic roof top (double LNB) dish.
We plan to be here for a week
