Foxy has been totally spoiled at this RV Park. The ladies in the office give her snacks and every time we leave the motor home, she leads us straight to the office. There are also several neighbors who are very generous to her with doggy treats. The way to her heart is definitely via her stomach. So, today she made the rounds for the final time and the lady in the office asked for a picture of her for good doggy memories.
Then came the hard part of the day; we had to drop her at the “Pet Resort”…aka…the kennel or doggy prison, for her stay while we’re on the cruise. We really hate putting her in a kennel but we console ourselves with the idea that she’s been there before and survived it…and it’s only for 10 days. However, it’s heartbreaking when they take her to the back and she casts that forlorn glance at us….translation…please don’t leave me here!!
Then, we got the motor home ready for our move to Dover, which was only 12 miles away; yet, it still takes the same amount of effort to get it ready to roll. We said good-bye to our lovely neighbors and hit the road right after lunch.
So, we’re settled in at Tampa East RV Park until January 4th. At least, the RV is settled. We will need to hit the road early in the morning to get to Ft. Lauderdale to board our ship for the Panama Canal Cruise. So, Joe went to fuel up the Jeep while I packed.
We had a light dinner at home to use up some leftovers and clean out the refrigerator a little. We had worked down our fresh food supply pretty well so we’re in good shape there. We’ll need a major grocery run when we get back though.
So, we will switch over to the cruise journal and we’ll update as much as possible from the ship, depending on how fast / expensive the connections prove to be.
In the meantime, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
