Sojourn to the Southeast travel blog

We had an easy smooth run to Clermont, about 220 miles. Traffic was noticeably heavy as we turned south on I-75. Then, we had a short stretch of the Florida Turnpike, which cost us a donation of $3.75 for the motor home and Jeep.

We’re settled in at Bee’s RV Park. This is a membership park and the price is right, $10 / night for full hook-up, 50 amp utilities. It’s close to the highway so there is a little noise but we’ve been in worse and paid a lot more; so, this is quite fine for the next two weeks.

We did a little shopping to keep Joe provisioned while I’m in Ireland. I also bought some trial-size toiletries because I want to carry my bag on board the plane and they are very fussy about liquids; I think I meet the guidelines now. I know I wouldn’t be able to travel for business now as easily as when we worked. Back then, there was no worrying about liquids and what shoes to wear so I could slip them off and on quickly. Ah, pity the poor traveling businessman today.

So, tomorrow is packing day and then I’m off to the Emerald Isle on Tuesday.

Because of the hassle of carrying my laptop, I’ve decided to leave it at home. I couldn’t make that decision when I was a working girl; my laptop was more important than my clothes….how our priorities change.

So, tune in again after a week or so and I’ll catch up on my journal entries when I return from Ireland.
