The Sunshine State

A Blue Angels Prop at the Florida Welcome Center

Foxy's Feline Friend

Foxy's Favorite Place, Joe's Chair

We had an uneventful drive to the Sunshine State. I-10 through the Florida Panhandle is a good road, albeit not very scenic. The terrain is relatively flat and, with very little wind, we got some pretty good fuel mileage for this segment of our trip.

We stopped at the Florida Visitor Center for a break. Joe took Foxy for a walk while I perused the tourist brochures. They offer samples of Florida juice, orange and grapefruit; we passed on that, too much acid for my stomach that early in the morning.

We had an early lunch break. At the Apalachicola River, we cruised into the Eastern time zone….lost an hour out of our lives in an instant; not to worry, we’ll get it back again in a couple of weeks when we change back to Standard time.

In short order, we arrived at our home for the next couple of nights at Tallahassee RV Park. This is a nice park although we had a little trouble leveling the coach because of the slope of our site; also, Joe was trying to position the coach to best maximize our chance for catching an internet satellite signal; success on both counts.

We settled in and had dinner at home and watched the clouds roll in. We’ll probably get some rain eventually, but we’ve been really fortunate so far in being able to stay ahead of the weather fronts.
