We haven’t seen much rain lately but the last day and a half made up for the drought. It appears the area needed the rain so we didn’t mind hanging around an extra day waiting for the front to pass through Tennessee.
It was dreary but dry so we decided to head west; we were on the road by 8:30 a.m., which is a little early for us but we wanted to get through Memphis today. We traveled an uneventful 335 miles and we are parked at Tom Sawyer RV Park on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River in West Memphis, AR.
We’ve said before how much Foxy is fascinated with objects that float; she parked herself on the picnic table and watched the barge activity on the river. Of course, she was delighted to just be outside since she’s been confined for the last two days because of the rain. It is grey and dreary here but reasonably dry. I took a picture of one of the many barges plying the river but it isn’t a great day for photography.
We hope to get into Oklahoma tomorrow and ‘home’ by Tuesday.
