We have returned to the Cherry Hill Campground near Washington. We are here primarily for the Baltimore Running Festival.
We ran on Saturday and it was not a good day for running. With absolutely clear and sunny skies combining with a bright sun, 80 degree temperatures, and an 8:00 start, it was a tough marathon. The course was very nice with views of the Inner Harbor, Fort McHenry, and a neat lake at mile 21. I had a decent run/walk given that I had set an objective to finish the distance. It was by far my slowest of the seven marathons that I have completed with a time of just over 5 hours and 25 minutes. But I did finish!
Meanwhile, Sue went crazy in the 5K. For the first time ever, she ran part of the race and completed the distance in a personal best time with a 13:04 minute per mile pace. She is justifiably very happy with her performance.
On Sunday we attended mass at the Cathedral of the Imaculate Conception in Washington.

On Monday we took a tour of Baltimore and did some water taxi hopping on the Inner Harbor. Although Baltimore has more than its share of poverty (See "The Wire" on HBO) it is an attractive city to tour. Some of the tour took us along the route of the marathon. It was easier in a bus! I have included a couple of photos from our tour. I was particularly amused by the Bromo Seltzer clock.

We completed our day with a nice dinner

So it was a full weekend and a good time for us in the Baltimore-Washington area.
Now we will be heading toward Texas via Tennessee and Arkansas.
