Our morning started out yesterday at Perdue University… We had driven by it on the way to our campground when we came to Michigan City and the landscape was so beautiful that we just had to go back and take pictures… What a great day to do this… There is no one on campus on Labor Day… We found some beautiful flowers, trees that were already shedding their leaves and some sculptures that we call real art… It was a great place to visit and I can just imagine what it will be like tomorrow when thousands of students return…,
A few days ago we drove down to the lake by Washington Park and learned that there was a Labor Day Festival going on all weekend… We didn’t have enough time to check it out so decided to go back there today… We paid our $6 to get into the park and walked around checking everything out… We came across some great entertainment in the pavilion but noticed that they had cloggers and fiddlers yesterday,,, Sure wish we would have known that before… We would have made sure we came during that time…
We did listen to the band and watch the dancers for quite some time before w started our walk on the beach… We made it all the way down to the lighthouse…. It was beautiful and I can’t remember the last Labor Day that we were able to spend on the beach….. Temperatures were in the high 70’s and the sun was out all day…
I took lots more pictures again so you could come along with us. Hope you enjoy them..
Today we are off bright and early to catch the train back to Chicago… More on that for sure later……
