Sojourn to the Southeast travel blog

We settled out our bill at Freightliner and we were hooked up and ready to go at 8:30 a.m. There is a nasty weather front headed this way and we debated how far we wanted to drive. Initially, we had thought about spending a couple of days around Sevierville, but the weather picture proved that to be a poor choice. So, we continued on through Knoxville and fueled up at Flying J. We had to pony up a little more for diesel here..$1.949 / gallon; still not bad, anything below $2.00 is OK these days.

We had lunch at a rest area and hit the road again. We also gained an hour today as we crossed into Central time. We decided we'd stop at either Crossville or Lebanon, TN depending on the rain. As we approached Crossville, the weather made the decision for us as; a nasty drizzle was coming down continuously. We hopped off and we're at The Bean Pot Campground; we've stayed here before too and it's one of Foxy's favorite campgrounds. We're not sure what the 'wow' factor is for her because it certainly has little 'it' factor for people; it's a good overnight stop and we know we can get satellite here. Depending on the rainfall, we might spend two nights but we'll decide on that in the morning.

Now, for our nasty surprise. When Joe went to hook up the utilities, he found the tote where he stores our Sewer Solution (that's how we empty our grey / black water tanks) was gone. He knew immediately what happened. When the mechanics at Freightliner took the tote out to access the air filter, they, obviously, forgot to put it back in. Luckily, this campground has a small RV supplies section and Joe bought a sewer hose to tide us over. He called Freightliner to report the problem; they had the tote but couldn't remember which coach they had removed it from. They'll ship it to us in Oklahoma City; it'll probably be there before us or shortly after our arrival.

Joe checked the weather radar; we are going to get drenched and it's about 43 degrees (reminds me of Ireland in the winter)....cold and damp. I started a load of laundry and took a nap. We had salad and spaghetti for supper....comfort food for a cold night.

Tune in again later for our next stop. We're leaning toward moving on to Oklahoma City, getting in a bit earlier than planned, but we have lots of 'to do' things that we can accomplish there.
