Bill finally was able to wash the Big Sky while we were at Hinckley. So few parks allow washing of rv’s or cars on site but Hinckley is one that still allows it. This is the first time since we bought our new house that it was washed and did it ever need it. He started waxing while still in Hinckley but had to wait until we returned to Lake Elmo to finish.

Our first day back we left in the truck to go back to Willmar to see Bill’s Mom. She had taken a fall and even though the x-rays showed nothing broken, she is in a lot of pain. Seems she sat down on a chair that wasn’t there and went down, landing on her tail bone. The poor thing. You could just see the pain in her eyes. They do give her a lot of pain pills but with the bad back she has always had and not the pain in the tailbone it is just awful.

It started to rain when we left Willmar and the 130 mile return trip took us 4 hours. Let me tell you, rush hour in the rain in a large Metro area is no fun. I don’t know how we ever did this every weekday for so many years. The only time it is worse is during a snowstorm. UGH. This winter was very rough in the North and the roads are in awful condition too. On our trip to Duluth, we had things falling off walls and even the guitar that we carry on the bed while traveling had bounced off to the floor. In all of our travels we have never had that happen before.

We have been working both inside and out. Bill finished the waxing and then started working on the storage areas in the basement. He is putting in shelves and hooks for his tools in the front section. When we got our Big Sky there was a heat shield in front for the generator. Since we don’t carry the generator in the RV (ours is in the truck) he removed the shield and it gives him lots more space to put shelves etc.

The rest of our time has been spent with family and tomorrow we move back over to the west side of Minneapolis. We will be staying there for the next three weeks. It will be nice to stay in one place for awhile and we will be a lot closer to Mom when we go see her again. Well not so much a lot closer but we will not have to drive across the entire Metro to get back to our site.

The weather has turned hot and humid and that means a lot of thunder and lightening. So far there hasn’t been any tornado’s but tis the season so we will be on alert.

Later from Dakotah Meadows RV Park in Prior Lake, MN.
