Another busy five days. I will have to let my pictures tell you most of the stories but here is a fast recap. We finally were able to get to the Mall of America one day and we never do things half way. There are over 500 shops and attractions in the MOA but since we have been there so many times before we knew just where we were going. Ya right? We hadn’t been there for about a year and there were so many changes that we promptly got lost, just as most tourists do. Well we’ll fix them. We have a GPS on our new phones and all we had to do was type in where we wanted to go and it directed us. How cool is this?We spent the first hour at Camp Snoopy watching all the kids and wannabe’s on the rides. Some were so scary that my heart was pounding just taking pictures. Some were just my speed though and I’ll point them out in the pictures. We found a wonderful new restaurant that we haven’t been to before and I had walleye again. I just can’t get enough of this great fish and it was really good. One thing that we really enjoyed was the baked chips that came with it. We thought they were all chips but some were a lot darker red and come to find out after one taste, they were baked beet chips. Oh boy, how fantastic. They had a sushi menu that sounded so good and one of the gals across from us was eating that I almost ordered that too. Maybe next time cuz I saw that a lot of things were cooked and not raw. After spending time at the MOA we went across the road to IKEA where we walked and shopped another two or three hours. Hey, I’m getting too old for all this shopping. We were beat by the time we came back but it was a great day. I didn’t realize how much I have missed all these neat shops and crazy people.Friday we started “Up North”. First stop was to our favorite campground in Minnesota at the Grand Casino Hinckley. It is a 5 star RV Park and we would love to stay there for the summer if we could because the price is right and the campground is awesome. The only problem is that it is in the middle of nowhere with not a heck of a lot to do except go to the casino and that could soon make the price be a lot higher. Not true this weekend though because I did pretty good and on Sunday morning we drove another 73 miles North to my home town of Duluth. Duluth has had a very rough winter this year and spring didn’t arrive until last Tuesday. Of course that meant we were back in the allergy season. It was a beautiful day and we spent it with my sister, Miriam and BIL Victor before stopping along Lake Superior on the Lake Walk at Leif Erikson Park. I had planned on surprising my daughter Terri when we got here but the surprise was on us and she wasn’t here so we missed her but we did get to meet our friends Arlene and Dean at our favorite Sammy’s Pizza for dinner before we returned to Hinckley. We plan on spending a couple of weeks in Duluth the last half of July so you will hear a lot more.Today we returned to Lake Elmo Park Reserve. We usually spend a lot of time here but this year the weekends are all booked and we decided to try some other areas. WE will be here for four days though and that is great since we are so near to a lot of our kids and grandkids.Enjoy the pictures. They will tell you a lot.Later………….
