Today was ‘moving day’. We decided to head back to Riviere du Loup and hope for better weather. We had a nice short uneventful drive of about 120 miles. We made one stop at a rest area to get Foxy out for a walk and I wanted to pick up a couple of more brochures on touristy things to do.
We also decided we should ‘feed the Cat’ with some diesel. We didn’t necessarily need fuel but it will undoubtedly get much more expensive as we head around the Gaspe Peninsula; not that it’s cheap here. Anyway, we pulled into an Irving station and now we’re set for a while again. We had lunch there too as we were killing time so we wouldn’t get to the campground too early for check-in. We gained the hour back that we lost when we went to New Brunswick.
We arrived at the campground and settled in. We needed to stock up on some meats so we went shopping at Metro and had a quick sandwich at Subway. It’s interesting trying to order sandwiches in French at an American chain store; but, we managed to get what we wanted. Next stop was Wal-Mart but, alas, it was closed. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a closed Wal-Mart but it’s 5 p.m. here so we’ll hit that tomorrow.
