Another 50 miles east on US50 brought us to Gunnison, Colorado. We had a coupon for three free nights at the Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch (a Western Horizon Park) so we decided to have a little R&R on their dime. Our only obligation was to sit through a 90 minute presentation - and we were to receive $50 cash also, what a deal. Well, it did not work exactly like that. After the salesman went through about ten minutes of his spiel he left for a second and his manager returned. She told us that, since we were obviously not interested in buying a membership, they were not going to continue the sell job. We could still stay for the three nights but we would not be receiving the cash. We enjoyed the stay but left as poor as we entered.
