The unveiling at the shed party

The new shed painting

Shed party

2/15 – 2/28

Before leaving Phoenix, we stopped at a farmer’s market and bought a bunch of vegetables and fruit. We were back in our home by about 2:00PM.

Our good friends, Dave and Diane, were at the park when we arrived. We spent the next four days visiting with them. The women challenged the men to a bridge tournament. It was close until the last rubber where the women slaughtered the men (during the last rubber the men did not have one opening hand). We had a mini reunion of our 1999-2000 Mexican caravan when we got together with Evelyn, Alvin, David and Diane for a Mexican dinner. Evelyn provided the salad, David made chicken enchiladas and Ken made cheese enchiladas. It was a great meal.

While we were in Mexico, the park had a carnival where they auctioned a shed painting by Joan (with her permission). She earned the park $105. She is almost done with the painting.

We put 0 miles oun our house and 391 miles on the Jeep in Fegruary.

3/1 – 3/19

The first part of the month we continued our stay in Casa Grande, Arizona. We kept busy attending park functions. Joan has completed another shed, of course there was another shed party – check out the photos on our web site. Ken continues to try and read all the books in the Casa Grande library. Joan has also been trying out golf, her best score was a 58 for 9 holes. Both of us continue to sing at the park’s jam sessions.

Dick and Carol invited us to their place for hamburgers and baked potatoes. Ken really enjoyed their jalapeno burgers.

We took a day trip to Tucson to visit Dave and Dianne. We had lunch at our favorite, 4.5 star, Chinese restaurant - P.F. Changs (1805 E. River Road 520-615-8788). Yes, we know it is a chain restaurant, but we really like it. Of course, we had their delicious chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer. Joan had lemon scallops and Ken had double pan-fried noodles with shrimp and pork. Both were excellent. After lunch, we went back to Dave and Dianne’s house to watch a photo show of their trip to Mexico to give out eyeglasses. We had a great visit.
