Meandering to Quebec & The Maritime Provinces travel blog

It was VERY cold last night; the heaters ran all night and the temps were down in the low 30's when Joe & Foxy struck out for their morning walk. At least it was dry. I hung in there in bed a while longer until Joe brought a steaming cup of coffee to get me awake enough to crawl out and face the day. We pulled out early and hit the road; we had a nice ride across Pennsylvania and enjoyed the last of the vibrant foliage. Then we hit Ohio, literally. Ohio gets our vote for the worst highways in the country. We bounced all the way through Akron, hitting one rough bridge joint after another. We stopped at Flying J for lunch; luckily, we didn't need any fuel today but we like to have breakfast food in their restaurant every once in a while. It was a short drive of just over 200 miles and we called it a day in West Salem, OH. We're at Town & Country RV Park, and we are the only transient RV'ers here; think everyone has gone south already. We are trying to keep ahead of the rain so we'll drive again tomorrow and hopefully make it to Greenfield, IN just east of Indianapolis.
