Wyoming Jackalope in Douglas

Our last day in Cheyenne was not very nice weather wise so we just went out to Red Lobster for lunch, bought diesel for the truck and went to the grocery store again. The rest of the day we just lazed around. It finally started clearing up in the evening and we even had a sliver of sunset to enjoy.

Memorial Day was a good travel day for us. We started out the day by thanking the Veterans for keeping us free to enjoy this beautiful country. I gave my Vet a big hug. I hope you all had the chance to do the same.

We had about 175 miles to drive through some beautiful Wyoming country. We followed the Laramie Mountain Range and crossed the Laramie River. Soon we were following the North Platte River and the many trails that our ancestors traveled on their way west. We stopped for lunch at a truck stop in Douglas and arrived in Casper around 3:00. It started to rain shortly before we got here but that didn’t bother us.

We aren’t here to sight see this time but to visit with family. Bill’s sister Jeanne lives here as well as a lot of her family. They came over to see us and we had a wonderful chat. We will spend more time with them today and I plan on cooking dinner for them tonight. It will be a short visit but better then nothing. I’ll let you know if we do anything exciting…… Later…………
