It rained so hard in Bellefonte Monday night, it looked like the Mississippi River was flowing through the campground. Once the storm passed through, the staff were out with graders trying to level everything off again. We were glad we had decided to stay two nights. When we're destination-bound, we limit ourselves to three consecutive days of driving. It felt great to just sleep late, do some housekeeping, computer maintenance, laundry, grocery shopping, etc. Just another day in the life of fulltimers.
Today, the weather was nice so we pulled out early and headed east. The roads weren't as good as in Western PA; but, not as bad as in Indiana....so, everything is relative. We had an uneventful day, had a lunch stop, and fueled up in Newburgh at Pilot...$2.73 for diesel...cash price. This will probably look cheap as we fuel in Canada later.
We arrived at the KOA in Plattekill, just a little north of Newburgh. We got settled in and we both had the urge for real New York-style pizza so we headed off for Paesano's; it was really great pizza and we shared a salad......yummy.
Foxy loves it here; lots of squirrels and chipmunks and there's a frog in the pond; it croaks at her and she's fascinated with the noise and just stares at the slimy water in the pond.
We'll try to do some sightseeing over the next couple of days, weather permitting.
