After doing four loads of clothes without any water leaking we knew that the washing machine was fixed. Yippee! Deep in my mind I don’t think there was anything wrong with it except the water not being turned on but that is something Bill and I could not check out ourselves since there is no way we could move the units out to get to the faucets. We returned to Camping World without the Big Sky and told them that everything worked just fine once we opened the sewer valve and I had cleaned up all the water and sopped up the wet carpet. We did ask them what they were going to do about the huge gouges the mechanic put in our door jambs and where the strip of molding was that didn’t get put back on. Well we waited about an hour while they tried to get our bill ready and find some new molding since they said the one they removed was now in four pieces. They will make an adjustment on our portion of the bill. We had agreed to pay for the moving of the machines in and out of the closet since the warrantee from Majestic was just for the service on the washer. It was such a nice day and we didn’t want to waste another one sitting around waiting so we told them to call us when they figured everything out. We are still waiting to hear from them… In the mean time……….
We went back up the mountains to Rocky Mountain National Park. From the road up we had a beautiful view of Long’s Peak but by the time we got to Estes Park it was raining. We stopped for lunch at a Mexican restaurant that was one of the worst meals I have eaten. The margarita was good though. By the time we finished and had checked out a few of the shops in town, we went back to the NP Visitors Center where I bought the exact same sweat shirt that my sister had bought five days earlier. I taught her right years ago and now we both like the same things.
What a difference five days had made. We headed for Bear Lake and on the way along with all of the elk, we found the Aspen trees had popped out and were just beautiful. The hot weather had melted much of the snow and the creeks and rivers were almost overflowing. When we got to Bear Lake there was still snow around the rim but the lake was wide open. Five days before you could only see about 20% of the water. The last time we were there I had sandals on but could still walk on the packed snow. This time I had to send Bill with the camera because the snow was slushy and very icy in some places. I will show some side by side pictures of the same area so you can see the difference.
We had driven up on Hwy 34 which was the same road as last time so this time we drove back on Hwy 36 into Loveland. It was a beautiful drive home through the canyon.
Today we will try to get everything straightened out with Camping World. They really have been very nice and I’m sure they will make things right but the bottom line is that we will fix the gouges ourselves as soon as we find new moldings that are close to matching our woodwork.
I am doing more laundry and housecleaning today. The temps have dropped to the 50’s and we can’t even see the mountains from our window. I’m sure glad we went up yesterday. The cooler weather will make it easier for us to stay home and get the cleaning done and then go to town and restock the groceries. It is our last day in Colorado and we are already getting sad about leaving. The State Parks are wonderful. I know we will have a hard time trying to match the ones we have stayed at this month.
Later from Wyoming………………..
