Sixty miles brought us to another Wal-Mart parking lot in Laramie, Wyoming (I-25, SR210, I-80). The drive along SR210, know to locals as Happy Jack Road, supplied great mountain scenery across a 8000 foot pass. In Laramie we visitor the Wyoming Territorial Prison. This federal prison was built in 1872 and closed in 1903. Their most famous prisoner was Butch Cassidy. During the self-guided tour we saw the warden’s house, the prison itself and the broom factory where prisoners made brooms. We also saw a railroad house which was a house made from a Union Pacific boxcar. This house was used at the prison for a workroom. This was a very interesting stop.
