It was a 86 mile drive from Jacksonville to Palm Coast, Florida. We parked our house in the driveway of Norman and Sue Poleski. Norman is Joan's cousin and has been Ken's friend for over 35 years. While at their place we caught up on what had been going on for the last couple of years since last we saw them. Norman had to make some business calls during the weekend so we tagged along with him - we now know a little bit more about steam valves. The highlight of the visit was watching, from Norman and Sue's front yard, the evening space shuttle take off. Although Cape Kennedy is about 60 miles away, the shuttle was extremely bright and quite impressive. Ken has seen the shuttle take off in the daytime but he says that the night takeoff was much more exciting.
