Sojourn to the Southeast travel blog

Today was a lovely day and we’re savoring every minute of it because we’re heading for cold and wet weather ahead.

We planned an easy, short drive to Walterboro, SC, right on I-95. About 110 miles took us through the southern end of Georgia; it seemed most of I-95 through Georgia is under re-construction. We stopped at the SC Visitor Center to get some tourist propaganda, a walk for Foxy, and an early lunch. Then, we had a short run of about 50 miles to Walterboro.

The campground is nice but there are huge pine trees everywhere, a challenge for Joe to aim the dish; but, he managed to get the signal locked. We took Foxy for another long walk; she loves these heavily treed campgrounds and this park has a ‘doggy paws park’ where she can run off leash. At first, she thought the huge pine cones were squirrels and she was funny as she stalked a couple of them before she realized they weren’t going to move or run away from her.

We’ll need to fuel tomorrow and then we should get to Gaffney by mid afternoon.
