One more of Laura and Rich on their deck

Yesterday was a rainy day so we just stayed home with the fireplace going to keep the chill out.     Um… Nice..About three in the afternoon we had friends come over to see us.      Laura and Rich Ouelette are a young couple that used to live in Michigan.    They sold their house four years ago and traveled in their Motorhome for the next two years.      We first met Laura and Rich at our reunion in Quartsite , AZ in Jan, 2006.     They were members of the "Fulltime Graduation Class of ’05" also.      Since that time we have crossed paths a few times in our travels and always enjoy their company.Like a lot of the younger full timers, they soon find that they miss their own place and friends.     I know that 30 years ago we would have felt the same.     When Laura and Rich came to Denver they fell in love with the area and found a nice place to build there new home.    They are in an upscale development that once was the Stapleton Airport.      Not too far from them is the City of Aurora where Laura found a boarding place for her new horse “Little Horse”.       Rich isn’t into horses as much as Laura so he got himself bikes…    Both the peddle mountain bike and just recently, a new 650cc BMW that is big enough to go anywhere very quickly but small enough to ride the Rocky Mountain roads. After visiting for awhile at our place, they took us to the stables so we could meet Little Horse.    She sure is a beauty.     We got there just as she was eating her dinner so trying to get her to look up wasn’t easy.Next we went to dinner at a really cool restaurant.      It was called Texas de Brazil.    Laura had made reservations for 5:00 and we arrived right on time.    What a place.     The first thing you see is the largest flower arrangement we have ever seen in the middle of the best salad bar we have ever eaten.     Man, they had everything and it was all done up so tasty and good.       The theme of this restaurant is food, food and more food.      You each have a big token at your place, one side is red and the other is green.     When you want to be left alone you turn the red (stop) side up but when you want more meat, turn the green side and you will have waiters bringing you so much food you don’t know where to put it.     The meat is all on huge skewers and you pick how well done you want yours and they put it on your plate.       Just some of the choices that I can remember is Beef Tenderloin,  Parmesan crusted chicken,  bacon wrapped chicken breast, Fillet of Sirloin, spare ribs, lamb chops, leg of lamb, etc, etc, etc.      After the huge salad I ate I could only try the tenderloin and chicken but the others tried a big variety.    The servings weren’t huge so that made it nice.      It was a fun way to dine although very expensive.     Laura had ½ price coupons that took over $80.00 off the bill but with drinks and tax there was still quite a large balance…    After dinner we went to see Rich and Laura’s place.      The first thing I drooled over was the dishwasher.    Next was the spa bathtub and then the huge washer and dryer that both work….   They still have their cockatoo bird named Snuggles.    She is so cute but would not come to me.    Course as soon as we would walk away she would start talking her head off trying to get us back… LOLIt was great to see these friends again.    We hope to get together again before we leave Denver.    They are so nice.       Thanks for a great day Rich and Laura….
