Next stop was a Wal-Mart parking lot in Las Cruces, New Mexico; 191 miles from Lakewood. After setting up we drove to the old section of Las Cruces called La Messilla. We walked through the town, browed through a couple of art galleries and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, La Posta de Mesilla (SW corner of Mesilla Plaza, 505-524-3524). Although we only rated the restaurant a 3.5 star this time, it has always rated a 4 star in the past and is still a good eatery.
