Our morning destination was Isabela Island, which is formed by 5 volcanos, still active. Urbana Bay, our landing spot, was created by an uplifting of the shoreline by 12-15 feet in 1954. This is giant tortoise habitat, but we didn't see any here.

Our afternoon site was Punta Espinoza on Fernandia Island. Fernandia is one of the youngest, and most volcanically active islands - latest eruption 2005. Punta Espinoza hosts sea lion colonies, lots of fat marine iguanas, and flightless comorants. The lava is relatively new, very rough, and sharp.
