Here we go again and again travel blog

Judi and Gene at Olive Garden

Sunday was a “get things done” day. After spending a couple of hours on the computer in the morning I finally broke down and took my laundry to the laundry mat. I was very happy to find that the facilities were as clean as a whistle and very reasonable.

It will be one month tomorrow that we got our new Big Sky and the washer has never worked. I have made do along the way but needed to do our bedding. It has not been done since we left Florida. For shame……

With that job done and the bed made back up we headed to the grocery store. We made a stop at the Casino Convention Center for a super great lunch on our way out. I can’t say enough about this campground….. We are surrounded by two lakes, a golf course and if you like casinos, a shuttle that will take you there and back…. If I had to make a complaint it would only be about the wind and dust that is here every spring.

I had put dinner in the crock pot before we left and the rest of the day we just did what we needed to do around the house. We had put our names in a drawing for a new car that occurred at 8:00 last night so after eating a wonderful boiled dinner and cleaning up, we went up to see if we were the lucky… Not a chance but the place sure drew a crowd. We came home and had a good night in front of the TV. I had my knitting needles in hand and started working on my next project.

Today was a special day for us.. We were able to meet for lunch with friends that we first met in Nashville just one year ago… Gene and Judi are people we met thru the Montana Owners Club and they were also here for the rally. Judi was one of the brave ones that took the balloon ride and I am so jealous of her. Things have not gone too well for this full-timing couple. They were in some very strong winds in south New Mexico earlier and waited till after the rally to find out what the damages were. The sad thing was that they had maintenance done to the tune of about $500.00 before they found out that they had a big problem with their Montana. It seems that the wind had done a lot of damage to their big slide and by continuing to use it the gears were all shot. They waited three days for an estimate from Camping World on the cost of repair and finally gave up and purchased a new RV. Keystone makes both the Montana and the Everest and the floor plans are very similar but the fact is that when they purchased the Everest, they became SOB’S…. (Some other Brand)…. Of course once a MOC, always a MOC and we were so glad to be able to have lunch with them today. I hope they will continue to contribute to the MOC Forum.

We stopped at a few places on our way home and arrived about 4:30. We have been waiting and waiting to hear from the Dale’s RV about the repair on our washer and finally after another call from us, Dale said he would be here tomorrow… Seem’s that the address he was first given was about 40 miles north of us and Dale wasn’t too happy to go that far but when he heard where we were we got an OK for tomorrow. What time is a mystery but I promise you, we will be here waiting…… Wish us luck……

Later………………
