Thursday was a work day. We sorted through some of the things that we had just dumped into bins and now the time is coming where we have to tackle what we do with it. We didn’t get it all done yet but did clean the whole the inside. After almost a month in wind and dust, dirt had settled everywhere. We took a break in the afternoon and went to Walmart where I was finally able to get a pedicure. Boy did that feel good. The dry desert really takes it’s toll on my feet. When we returned home, I made a nice salmon dinner and soon fell asleep in front of the TV.Friday was a much different day. We didn’t start out too early but our first stop was at Camping World to buy a ladder that they have in their sale catalog but it still hasn’t arrived. Bummer, I really need this ladder for safety reasons and they are only on sale until May 4th. We will try them once more before we leave here.Next we drove back to Old Town Albuquerque. We were there earlier with Jan and Jeff but we read that there was so much more than we had time to see. It was a great day to go there because tomorrow starts a Great American Pow Wow. They expect 150,000 people in from all over the US and Canada for this. Today in the square they had the”Code Breakers” selling their book. If you haven’t heard about or seen the movie, it is an incredible story. The Code Breakers are all Navaho’s that served in World War 11 in the Pacific. The Japanese could never break their code because it wasn’t a code. It was the Navaho language and nobody knew what that was. What a story. There are not many surviving Veterans remaining from ‘the big one”, but those that do are some of the most interesting people you could meet. If you talk to them, they are very witty and love to tell their story. They all wear their Veterans uniforms and they sign their books to make enough monies to travel here and pay their expenses. I hope all 150,000 that attend will buy their book.

While there, we finally got a call from the makers of our washing machine saying they had faxed authorization for repairs to Dale's RV. They gave us a phone # to call and we got Dale on his cell. Only problem is that he is not in town and won't be back untim Monday. He will call us to set up an appointment to come out to our park and take a look. Of course that means that if we have to order parts we could be in Albuquerque a lot longer than we want. In fact, since I can spell Albuquerque without spell check, means we have already been here too long. Oh well, we always knew something like this could happen and we intend to make the best of it. There really is lots to see and do in this area.

We went into several more shops and while having lunch at an outside café, we were just in time to watch the picture taking either before or after a wedding in the square. How many times have we run across this? Our friend Jan had told us about a great place to go called The Coffee Shop Café. She had read about it in her Southern Living magazine. We drove by on our way home from Old Town and wouldn’t you know there was a closed sign on the door along with a 4-sale sign. Bummer. A month too late. Sorry Jan, we tried. Got some more pictures for you. Later……………
