We all have a picnic shelter
After a sad good-bye yesterday morning, Jan Jeff pulled out of the Fiesta Grounds and headed west back to Arizona. We followed close behind but in our case we only went a couple of miles down the road to a tire shop. Our new Pressure Pro Tire Gage warned us that we had a tire that was getting low. On inspection we found a nail in the rear tire on the Big Sky. We thought that we could just have it repaired but it turned out that the tire had two nails in it and was not safe to repair so we had them put on a new tire. We feel very lucky that we had the Pressure Pro to warn us of this problem instead of having something happen while on the road.
Because we plan on having other work done while we are here (my washer doesn’t work) we had checked out a campground we saw in the Trailer Life Directory. It is at a Casino Resort that is very very nice. The park is quite a ways away from the casino and is right next to two lakes. We are surrounded by a golf course on the other side. There is a shuttle you can call if you want to go to the casino but all we did was give it a quick check out and spent the rest of the day at our site….. There is a Rapid Transit train station right near us (walking distance) and the fares are quite reasonable with the senior discount. We can take the train all the way to Santa Fe for about $6.00 . It’s very possible that we will do that one day because we have booked into this park for a week. The weekly rate of $148.00 was becoming to us instead of the $38.00 a day most places charge. The only draw back to this campground is that the trains run most of the night and always blow their whistle when they arrive. I’m sure that we will soon sleep right thru this but last night we heard it every time.
We are trying to get authorization to have our washer fixed and also need to go to a Montana dealer for some minor things on our Big Sky. It will be a pain to have to hook up each time but that is the life of a full-timer. We can’t just drop it off and go home. It is our home.
It sure is sad without Jeff and Jan. We really had a great time with them; Such nice people. I’m not sure when the next time is that we can see them but you can bet that we will whenever we can.
