Memorial to submariners
The rain is far behind, the sun is out and it is hot and humid. We find our campground the Seaport in Mystic, CT. With out Passport America and AAA discount it is $27.00 a night.
We head out to visit the Nautilus the first nuclear sub and now a National Historic Landmark. The Museum is at the Groton Submarine Base and details not only the Nautilus but also the history of submarines. You are able to tour the Nautilus with a self-guided audio tour. The headphone is activated by something within the ship that as you pass into a section the tape changes to the section you are in. If you don't leave that area it will repeat. It you leave the area early and go to the next area it will advance.
We then drove around Groton for awhile, went to Wal-Mart, got prescriptions filled and came home.
