Sojourn to the Southeast travel blog

We left Grassy Key about 9 o’clock for our short ride of about 180 miles to Clewiston. As usual, we had the sightseers on U.S. 1 through Islamorada and Key Largo and then a little road construction sprinkled in to slow us down just a little. We splurged for the $9 for the tolls for the turnpike so we didn’t have to trudge our way through the Homestead area. Then we got off on Highway 27 and that brought us to Clewiston.

This was not a very scenic drive but we were destination bound as we wanted to get in and set up so Joe could watch the Daytona 500.

So, the Clewiston / Lake Okeechobee KOA is our home for the next week. We are looking forward to a relaxing week.
