It rained all night and was still raining as we left camp. We are now an hour down the road and the sky is blue with a few wispy clouds. The wind is really blowing however so it will be a long run for just 100 miles.
We made a stop at the Morristown National Historical Park in Morristown. This was the site or Washington's encampment during the winters of 1777-1778 and 1779-1780.
The encampment was on the site of the Henry Wick farm. Wick was a very prominent farmer/rancher during the late 1700's and owned over 1200 acres of land. He not only offered the land to the Continental Army but also housed General Alstair Stewart in his home for the same time period.
After leaving Morristown we heading on to Freehold, New Jersey. Here we will be staying at the Turkey Swamp County Park. Lynne will be flying in late tonight and the next 4 days we will play in and around NYC.
The park is beautiful, the spaces are large and we have water and electricity. There is a laundry at the park so we went over and did the clothes.
