Dropped Lynne off at the train station this morning. She will be on her own for the next 3 days.
We are headed down to Spray Beach Yacht Club on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. We will be here until the 21st for the IOBG Annual Meeting.
Our home for the next 4 days would be the Spray Beach Yacht Club. We get parked and hooked up to electricity and have a chance to take stock of our surroundings. We are within 10 feet of the Barnegat Bay looking out at another of the Barrier Islands. The sun is shinning and it is beautiful.
Spray Beach Yacht Club is one of the five clubs that make up District #12 and we will have a chance to attend all five clubs before the weekend was over.
Al and Mary stopped by and then Dick Janiszewski to see if we were all set and needed anything.
Al, Mary, Mike and I went over to the Engleside Inn, where everyone will be staying, to register. Things were slow so we headed back to the RV. We are in such a great spot and since the meetings are at the Spray Beach club we had people dropping by.
Dinner that night was at the Surf City Yacht Club. This club is up at the Northern end of the Island. The saying around here is "when you come on the island, the haves turn right and the have mores turn left".
Well this club is in the area of the "have mores". The club is small, less than 100 members, but very active. In fact the island has a great interclub competition going with sailing activities, especially for the juniors. Surf City has two young people who will be sailing for the U.S. in the Beijing Olympics.
After dinner, Mike and I along with Jerry and Louis Key snuck out and went back to the RV to watch the world series.
