I lived in North East, PA from 1958-1962 and graduated from North East High School in 1960. I hadn't seen a fellow graduate after 1965 until Tony Webb and I got together in Florida in December 2006. This changed this week when we spent a few days at the Lakeside Campground near North East.

Tony has a manufactured home at Lakeside and Bruce Campbell, who served as an usher at our wedding, has a lakefront cottage about a mile east of the campground.

Visiting in town from California were Terry Henderson and his wife Linda. We were joined by fellow graduate Joanne Muscarella.

We got together with all of them at Tony's home. Later we had a chance to meet Bruce's wife, Peggy.

After that visit, Tony, Bruce, Terry and I attended the home opener of the North East Grapepickers.

Kickoff

Yup! I said "Grapepickers!"

The band performed at the game and I grabbed a shot of the flag bearers and the band. Note the flag bearer who is in the back on the right. She'll come up later!

Each day that we were in town we had a chance to get together with Dave Darling. Dave, who went by the nickname "Bunny" in high school, was the first person to greet me on my first day at NHS in 1958. He is still a neat guy with a warm personality.

On Saturday night we drove into Ripley, NY for dinner with more classmates.

1960 Graduates
Added to the list of long-lost-but-now-found folks were Bill Johnson, Dick McIntosh, and Joe Kloszewski. It was a good time and we plan to return to North East for the class's fiftieth reunion in 2010!

Monday was labor day and a chance to get together with my mother's sister's children, the Kings. We met them at the home of Jeff Schultz, of the famed Schultz farming family, who is married to the former Patti King, second youngest of the King clan.

The eldest King, Tom was there for a short time and we had a chance to visit with him. The others were able to stay for hamburgers, corn on the cob, and other goodies.

Bev, the elder daughter, and her husband, Pat

Bev and Pat
are busily engaged in running a home health care company and working in local government respectively.

Gary, the second eldest of the group, who is an equity consultant, was there with his wife, Brenda.

Patty's two children were there as well. I missed getting pictures of Jamie and Maggie, but you can find Maggie in another photo. She was that flag bearer at the North East football game!

This was the second time that we have gotten together in the past couple of years and it was great to see them again.

Cousins

We finished the night up with a drive to the top of the Schultz property overlooking lots and lots of grapes.
