Yes we did go to John Travolta’s home and someone came out of the gate in a black car with black windows that we couldn’t see through. Who it was is anybody’s guess. I did not have my camera with me but the girls did. I would put these on the journal if the poor couple hasn’t already had enough publicity. I say, let them grieve in peace.
We returned home and ate spaghetti with my famous garlic toast. Diet or not, I had to have some of that garlic toast. I did turn away from the Key Lime Pie and that just about killed me. We sat around talking until we all got tired. Bill took the gals back to their hotel and at 10:00 the next morning we picked them up and headed back to the Orlando Airport to catch the plane back to Minnesota. Wouldn’t you know that as soon as they left, the weather started to warm up and has continued to do so ever since.
We got back home from Orlando in time to attend a board meeting that night and the next night we had another ice cream social. Some of us went over early in the day and set everything up and when we completed that, we started on making our poodle skirts for the “Sock Hop” that was held on Friday night. We worked on these at the clublouse until the last minute and finished the hand work at home. Soon it was time to return to the clubhouse and start serving the ice cream. It was still a very cold evening but it turned out to be a very good turn out with the profit’s going to the things we need at the clubhouse.
Friday evening the Resort put on a Sock Hop. A bunch of us donned our 50’s attire and went up to join the fun. There was food and music topped with root beer floats. We had a ball!
Saturday was another concert day at Silver Springs but we have already seen "38 Special" once before so we opted to go to the Market of Marion and a nursery to buy replacement flowers for the ones that froze last week. We found a really good sale and for about $12.00 I added a lot of color in place of the frozen plants. We finished off the day around the fire pit at our friends at the end of our road at the place they call Margaretville.
Today was a trip to the grocery store and a meeting with out activities committee. We planned the events for the month of February and we sure do have a lot of things in the works. In between all this activity, I am going through one closet, one drawer, one cupboard at a time and if we haven’t used it in the past year, it is history. In fact, one of the events coming up is a rummage sale and I will be donating these things to that sale. I also am going to put our Splendide 2000 Washer/Dryer and our compact freezer up for sale. Our new Big Sky will have a washer and dryer in it already and the new refrigerator/freezer is about twice the size of the one we have now so we will not need it.
As you can see, we have our work cut out for us but we have no intention of all work and no play so be sure to come back………Later
