The big Tampa RV Show started on Wednesday. This is one of the largest shows in the US and we have gone each year for the last three years. This year we went down on Tuesday and met a group of Escapees from the class of ’07 that were having a luncheon not far off of 1-75. We had hoped to also see our friends Smokey and Pam but after a quick hello and hugs, we went without them. Smokey had hurt his back and just wasn’t up to it and Pam had been sick all morning. We met at the Golden Corral in Brooksville and had a wonderful time seeing some people that we haven’t seen in a couple of years and meeting some new ones.
After lunch, we continued on down to Tampa and stayed overnight at the Beautiful Hard Rock Casino/Hotel…. I had been to the casino on a bus trip once last year but never did see the hotel. Gee is it ever nice. Both Bill and I enjoyed our evening there and I won enough when we first got there so it didn’t cost us anything. After a good nights sleep, we had breakfast at the hotel and then checked out. The Fair Grounds are just across the road from the Casino but since that road happens to be the Interstate, we had to drive to get across to the RV show. Once we got inside, we spent almost all of the rest of the day at the Montana/Big Sky exhibit. They had their brand new Big Sky with full body paint on display and we couldn’t resist. We now have our order in for one of these beautiful new Hickory Edition 5th wheels and hopefully it will be in about mid March. It was just four years ago when we ordered our first Montana at the RV Show in Minneapolis. We had planned on going back there to buy our new one but since we spend most of our time in Florida now we felt it was better to have a dealer close by. We hated the thought of not buying from Ranger Rick at Quality RV but we found another really nice salesman named Ed that goes by “Easy Eddie”. We know that he will take just as good care of us as Rick did.
Right after we wrote our purchase order up, we ran into one of our neighbors that lives across the street from us here in Silver Springs. We showed him the floor plan that we ordered and he liked it so well that he bought the floor model. He had planned on trading his Monaco Class A RV in on a Park Model but after seeing all the room in the Big Sky, he liked that better. I got Easy Eddie over to him and they made the deal. Eddie is going to buy me dinner. LOL.
I will try to put some pictures up to show you what we are waiting for.
When we left the RV Show about 5:30 that day, we headed over to the Orlando Airport. That is another whole story though so I’ll tell you that one later……
