AussieNomads conquer North America |
|
G'Day and welcome aboard.
We're back home in Sydney now but hope you enjoy reading our tales of adventure.
We flew out of Sydney on 11 January 2008 and have been living in our 25ft motorhome since then. Did I mention we're towing a jeep. We've been touring from one end of North America to the other, all the way from Florida to Alaska and everything in between except the boring bits.
Some highlights along the way have been watching the 2.28am space shuttle launch in Florida. The summer season in Alaska, the Amish of Lancaster County, catching up with family in Toronto, driving towards a tornado and not realising (yes believe it or not!), Las Vegas (always lots of fun), the stunning landscapes of the national parks in the Colorado plateau.
What hasn't been fun is the plummet of the Aussie Dollar in recent weeks and petrol prices!
People say we are so lucky to be doing this, well neither of us believes in luck. We are here because this is something we wanted to do, so we both worked towards making it a reality. We don't think anyone goes away for a year without lots of planning and organising and trust in ourselves and each other.
To anyone out there making plans for the future all we can say is don't put things off for to long.
Are we having fun? Youbetcha
How much is this experience costing us? In round figures PRICELESS!!!!!
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.
