Our Trip Across the USA |

We (Tom & Phyllis) are scheduled to leave Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Our plans are to get up bright and early, have a good breakfast and leave around 9:00 a.m. We are looking to put in about 6 hours a day of driving and getting off the road around 3:00 pm to get a good dinner and plenty of rest. Our time is pretty much our own so we are in no hurry. Our ultimate goal is, "Old Historic Route 66", check out the map.
Our first stop will be in Connecticut with our first goal getting to Acadia National Park in Maine. Hubby and I honeymooned in Maine but never really had a chance to see the wonders of this state, although we both enjoyed a great lobster dinner there about 32 years ago. Our kids went with us to Maine and it was amusement parks and not history.
It's March 31, 2009 and things are beginning to move fast. We have left the apartment complex and I will be going to Circle M for almost a month. May 13th is coming fast and I haven't even caught up with it yet.
It's Thursday, April 30th 2009 and the excitement is mounting. Twelve days and we'll we heading out to a dream of a lifetime. I'm still downsizing and our daughter Loretta has stored just about everything we own. Ends up we almost filled a bedroom, still room for more boxes. Tom and I are both excited. Next paragraph you'll see is the one that says we are on our way.
