First day on the wine tour - Jan 17, 2008 - Franschhoek, South Africa

Well after some confusion over auto versus standard we got a nice automatic Honda Civic and hit the road to the wine country. (actually a better car than we started with Veenie). We visit four wineries, did some tasting, had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed some fabulous scenery. To get to one of the wineries we had to be mountain goats up a gravel road. But well worth the trip - thanks Brian the views from Cordoba wineries was amazing. Only managed to collect one bottle so far, but this is early. We've checked into our B & B in Franschhoek and Jo is in heaven (free black label scotch in the lounge!!). We're off to dinner now.

Happy to hear from Jo's dad that mom's surgery went well.
