Day 9 - 109km
By far the longest cycle of the trip so far because the area south of eden is so isolated. Passed only one town until finally reaching cann river, a place called genoa which had a hotel, two cafes and a bridge and that was literally all there was to it. At the time i arrived all three establishments were closed so headed on for another 47km past a lot of trees. Crossed into the state of Victoria along the way, and there were signs that the road was getting a lot flatter which came as a relief. Cann River is only slightly bigger than Genoa - the local store didnt even stock bread, but treated myself to a motel (a room above a pub) which had an incredibly springy matress and a toaster and free cereal - it was just what i needed after the long ride.
