With the fresh strawberries we bought yesterday, we couldn't leave the campground until Tony cooked waffles for us - enjoying the strawberries on top.
The drive to Rimouski starts our drive around the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec before going to New Brunswick. We'll be following the St. Lawrence River which is now on our north. It started out today to be rather narrow in some areas, but by the time we arrived at Rimouski, it almost looks like an ocean out there. The highway is dotted with small, picturesque villages which have been built almost everywhere there is a cove or inlet to give shelter from the body of water. The peninsula is made up of several sections - today's area being what is referred to as the "coast" and was mostly flat. After getting situated at the campground, we took a ride into town and enjoyed local pizza. This is a more rural area and the young lady who waited on us knew very little English, but we all managed and enjoyed salad and pizza.
By the looks of the very full campgrounds at Quebec City and here, and vehicles on the road, it doesn't look like the economy is keeping people at home this summer. Although, most of the campers we see so far are from Quebec, so they've probably not traveled very far from home.
