DAY 41 Today’s Plan; Go to Sudbury.
The trip is uneventful. We make it to Sudbury with all eight wheels still on the truck and trailer. Man, some of their roads are bad in Ontario. And this is the TransCanada. It doesn’t matter what speed you go, you still get bounced around. About 30 klicks out of Sudbury the road improves and widens into 4 lanes. This has been typical in Ontario. 4 lanes into through and out of town then back to 2 lanes with passing lanes every 5 to 10 klicks. The difference here is the speed limit is up to 100 Kph. A first.
We go to a campsite we think will be suitable and set up. They have WI-FI too. We just get settled in a camp chair when the phone rings. It’s Lorna’s cousin, Catherine, who is expecting us. We plan to meet for dinner and freshen up to go out. We meet at Lorna’s Aunt Bessie’s place. We get a tour and a short visit then go to the cafeteria for dinner. We have a nice meal and visit for a while, then Lorna’s cousin, Alec, comes in. Aunt Bessie is Catherine and Alec’s mother. We visit and look at pictures until the hour grows late, then return to the trailer. We agree to meet tomorrow for the dragon Boat races and a tour of a nickel mining display.
DAY 42 Today’s Plan; Dragon Boat races and Nickel mining.
We wake to a brightening morning, but have to cancel our plans for the daytrip. Lorna isn’t feeling well. She had a restless night and so goes back to bed. I use the time catching up on some of our accounting and planning. There is WI-FI here but it is marginal (8%) at our site , so I’ll have to go over by the office get connected. I try this and get connected, but am unsuccessful at getting this sent off. I ran out of time. It seems you only get 15 minutes. I have started an Email account with Gmail (Google). I’m tired of trying to make Outlook work. There is a password problem with My Trip Journal and I ran out of time before I could solve it.
When we get to Toronto, I’ll upload these last few days at Nancy and John’s. You got our Gmail address with the notification so you can mail us whenever you want. I’ll see if John can help us get more reliable Wi-Fi.
After noon the skies open and we get a good downpour, but it only lasts an hour or two, then starts to clear up. By supper, the sun comes out and Lorna is feeling better. We both needed a bit of time to rest and relax I think. The weather is forecasted to be sunny in the AM with showers in the PM. A good day to travel, I guess.
