Merry Christmas Whanau & Friends

Christmas time is all about eating, drinking, Xmas parties etc etc? Being away from home makes it quite different though and it will be very quiet with just the 3 of us. We will be having our fair share of the festivities with a few party invites coming our way, but it feels quite weird when you can't let your hair down and totally relax. So, it makes you think about all the friends and family back home, and the Christmas' gone by when we spent it with each other. Too much good cheer on Xmas Eve, or on Xmas morning! Remember a few of them! (or not)? A few sessions at the Fire Station in Otaki too....mmm. Anyway, we are living our dream here and probably having a white Xmas, and enjoying ourselves in the white stuff. So, we will be thinking of you's and will drink a toast to you all on Xmas morning here. Have a awesome holiday and New Year. Lotsa love Heather.

Group posting this one, so all having a turn at writing a little. Yeah I'm guessing this Christmas will be really different to any others, the seasons being upturned like our lives for this year. But we wouldn't have missed this for the world, and it's giving us huge opportunities we probably never thought a few years ago would ever happen. The work side of things is unbelievably similar, just without the usual paperwork and responsibility, so its made me slip into a cruise mode that could be hard to shake off when back at home? All of those in the fire service know how much better it is to be sitting in the back and actually putting the wet stuff on the red stuff rather than having to worry more about the overall picture and the report writing! And as to the off-duty time, you've all read about our postings and seen that we have been able to experience more than we ever thought possible before we left home. So Christmas time gives us the time to slow down, put our feet up, eat a few chocolates (I hope) while listenening to the newer jazzed-up carols, and just appreciate what a wonderful time we're having. Merry Xmas to you all. Ian.

This year will be a little different I think. With snow falling, our pot plant tree and lots of presents! although that parts the same every year. haha. I think dads expecting a bit much dont ya think? chocolate? you'll be lucky. So I hope everyone had a great 2008 and hope you have a happy christmas and a merry new years! See you all in the new year :) love steph x
