After 2 hours on a ferry, a 6 hour night bus to Bangkok, and an hour and a half train ride up north, we reached the city of Ayuthaya, well known for its cemeteries of ruins and temples that are scattered about. Jamie and I spent the night at a hostel here and walked around the ruins all day, then had a great time eating chep street food at night and walking around and through a big festival going on. We missed the main show with elephants and tigers, but many stages were set up with dancing, singing and thai comedy.
