The Frugal Travelers travel blog

He is sooo adorable.

Hanging on for dear life.

The 4 guys that played music for us.

Gracie the Yorkie, was the smallest listener.

I talked to my little sister, Jean Wednesday, and she said my brother got to come home from the hospital earlier in the day. From what she says, he is doing fine. I am giving him a few days to get rested up and then I will call him.

Tuesday, the day before we left The Parkview Riverside RV Park, they had live music. It was all older guys,3 guitars, and one fiddle player. They were pretty good. I took a couple of pictures and will share one with you.

I also got a couple pictures of a woodpecker eating at my small bird feeder. I’m not sure which kind he is. He has a yellow patch on his head, but was just adorable the way he hung on to the feeder to get a seed.

We pulled out early on Wednesday morning, very early. We both had a terrible nights sleep, the night before, so we just went ahead and pulled out early. We got to Columbus, Texas around 1:00 p.m. We stayed at a small park called “Happy Oaks RV Park”. The nicest little lady helped us register and get settled for the night. She tried to talk us into staying more than one night, had I known what was in store for us the next day, I would have stayed, but we had reservations at Duson, so took off the next morning.

When we first arrived at Frog City R V Park we thought it was pretty nice. It’s one of those parks that are mostly concrete, but I can live with that. The lady that signed us in was very friendly and helpful, but before we even got back in the truck to go to our assigned site, a man working there asked what we were doing, and I said we were waiting to be shown to our site, and he told me to be quiet and let my husband talk to him.( I was completely thrown for a loop) I actually didn’t know how to react to what he said to me. I was like shocked!! I thought he was probably having a bad day or something. Next the internet wouldn’t work, so I walked back up to the office and asked if they had any idea why it wasn’t, and they said no. I came back and started messing with the computer, and finally got it to work. Later we hooked up the free cable, and the reception was just horrible, and only half the stations were coming in, so the guy in the next site told Don to hook up to his cable connector, and see if it worked there. It did, so Don went up to the office to tell them. The smart--- guy came right away, and started telling Don that he had it hooked up wrong, but we knew we didn’t, so he left in a huff. In just a couple of minutes the owner and this other guy came back and tried to start a fight with Don, saying he had cussed the first guy out, which we both knew he hadn’t, but the owner just kept on screaming at Don, and when I tried to tell him he hadn’t cussed at the guy, he tried to push me back in the RV. I finally just told him to give us back our money, and we would leave. We had to hook up and leave at almost dark. I still can’t believe this happened. Never in our two years of this life-style, have we been treated this way, so our first stop in Louisiana was not a pleasant one. The guy in the next site to us told us he couldn’t believe it had happened and was glad he was pulling out the next day. He also told us about another park right down the road. It’s a KOA, and a little high, $44.00 a night, but it is nice. Today we have reservations at another park, and I will fill you in on it when we get there.

We are getting ready to pull out of here, so I will get off here and get a couple of pictures loaded. I will catch you later… :)
