We tried to pack up as quickly as possible as Sean, Liam and Rhiannon were intending to walk to Merimbula from the cp.
We left just before 9.30am and it took the car a good twenty minutes to arrive in Merimbula, a much bigger and touristy town.
Miranda, Sara and I had breakfast in a cafe owned by an ex WA lady....she owned three bunnings cafes before moving to Merimbula.
We then walked around the town purchasing some party goods for Rhiannon's Birthday, some lollies and some new thongs for Miranda. She lost her other pair on the band night!!!
We were walking back down the street when we saw Sean. He had left the two older ones on a corner as they were exhausted and Rhiannon had hurt her toe!!!
As Sean had not taken his wallet they were in desperate need of something to eat....Subway!!!
We then bought some shorts for Liam from Rivers and then back to the car to drive on to Bega.
We arrived and did the self guided tour, tasted some cheeses and then we decided we needed icecreams!!!
On leaving I spoke to the tourist information man and told him how we were heading to Bateman Bay and then up to Canberra. He advised me that this was the worst way to go and that it is a hard slog up the mountains ....better to go from here to Canberra but take care on the way down from Canberra to Bateman Bay....brakes could be burnt out!!!
So we drove onto Canberra ...it was long and windy(not as bad as Tassie) and we were exhausted and hungry. We stopped on the side of the road in a town and made sandwiches and cut up some of the Bega cheese to have with crackers.
We finally arrived in Canberra and of all our luck it was Sky Show night so travelling through the city was horrid. We went to the caravan park closest on the GPS...it had it's own tavern and tattoos and cigarette smoking was a prerequisite....Sadly, not we decided not to book in!!!
Then we went to two other cps to find them all booked out. When it seemed as if we were destined to enjoy a night with some bikies I remembered,I had picked up a Canberra tourist brochure in Bega. We phoned around and found that there were sites in the showgrounds.
We drove there unpacked and then Sean decided to visit the Ladies!!!
He was informed that the Men were over on the other side by another man. I wonder how he did not realise it was not a male toilet with out a urinal and that smell!!!!
We all enjoyed a chorizo pasta and went straight to bed!!!
