On to Canada travel blog

Yesterday we drove to Drumheller and the home of the Royal Tyrrell Museum. This museum sits in the middle of the Canadian Badlands and is noted for its paleontology collection (dinosaur bones). We spent over 4 hours visiting the various exhibits, many of which were collected in Dinosaur Provincial Park. Unlike many of our dinosaur exhibits, they have displayed many of them in the manner in which they were found. They also have the prohibitive favorite, Tyrannosaurus Rex with his teeth poised for his next meal.

Today we drove into Calgary and visited Fort Calgary. This post was established in 1875 to further control the trade of liquour with the native americans and later expanded with the growth of the Canada Pacific Railway and the discovery of oil. We were fortunate to have a retired RCMP officer give us a personal tour and background on the RCMP.
