Today we went on two tours, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. First of all, we had to go to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Visitor Centre to get information and book on any tours available.

The visitor centre was located in one of the very old buildings too, which I have tried to capture on camera.

The buildings and statues in Kalgoorlie-Boulder are very much like the ones of Coolgardie; big old and beautiful - as you will see from some of my photos.

The morning tour was in an underground mine out at the Prospectors and Miners Hall of Fame. We got to actually go down underground with a retired miner, into the tunnels. As well as the underground tour, the Hall of fame had lots of other exhibits.

Our afternoon tour was different again, it was to a house with many pink doors, called Questa Casa. We learnt lots about the history of the famous 'Hay street area' and how the existence of such houses was important to the men of the goldfields. Some staff from the visitors centre came on this tour with us, as it is a new tourist attraction, and they wanted to learn what it was about, to be able to promote it. It was a lot more interesting, then I thought it was going to be.

Tomorrow we will be leaving Kalgoorlie-Boulder for our trek across the Nullabor, which will take a couple of days.

Enjoy the photos.
