It rained overnight again and, amidst the pitter patter of the raindrops, we were rudely awakened by the tire pressure monitor, signaling one of the Jeep tires was low. Joe checked the tire and decided to run it down to Canadian Tire to have it checked out and fixed. Sure enough, they found a piece of wire lodged in the tire; so, that’s fixed and we’re good to go again.

It was a lovely dry sunny day so we took a ride up the coast to L’isle Verte. There’s a lighthouse out on the island and we were going to take the ferry; but, a few obstacles changed our minds. First, the ferry can only come and go when the tide is in; secondly, it cost an arm and a leg to take the Jeep on the ferry. We couldn’t do a walk-on and take Foxy too; so, we axed the idea entirely. We didn’t particularly want to hang around the island with nothing to do except watch the tide come in so we could get back to the mainland. L’isle Verte is a quiet, sleepy little town with little more than a church and a couple of convenience stores.

We stopped at the Waterfalls here in town. They are actually pretty impressive for being smack dab in the middle of town. Surrounded by a power plant and picnic area, a couple of footbridges provide some good viewing for the 30-meter high falls. There are actually about 10 km of walking trails but we were lazy and stopped at St. Hubert for coffee and dessert; we said later we should have walked.

We drove out to the point and Joe dropped us off and Foxy & I walked back to the RV park. Then, we did our pre-departure chores for tomorrow. We’re going to move about 60 miles up the road to Rimouski.
